Valentines 2012

Its Valentines weekend which means a mini vacation for us!!
We both were off work by about 2 on Friday, so since we had PLENTY of time to kill before we needed to leave. We took my car over to the Oceanside car wash. I was so excited I love OCEAN anything! Sadly I was disappointed it was not as great and magical as I thought it would be they need to add some wall paintings to that place!! ANYWAYS…..
The beautiful flowers that were delivered to me at work!
We packed our bags and headed up to SLC! (You would think with how many bags we had we were staying for the week and not just the night.) Makes me worried how many bags we will REALLY have when we ARE gone for a week!

Once we finally got checked in we still had some time to kill. So Nate brought up his FAVORITE topic, (of the moment) RENOVATING a home. Don’t get me wrong I love thinking about all the great things we can do to an older home, BUT when you start talking about to finances of it all, it can be quite overwhelming. It starts to really stress me out and puts me in a weird mood. I start to feel guilty about the not so little things we have planned for this year. For instance our Disneyland trip, buying me a new car, and maybe hopefully a baby, all things we DON’T have to do. It made me start to worry about our trip, THE biggest reason I love our weekend getaways is because I feel like we always come back feeling much closer to each other, its time for us to reconnect.

I had made us reservations at the Market Street Grill about a month ago just to be safe. When I checked in and the hostess informed me that they were running about 20 minutes behind…..Not a big deal… Well 40+ minutes later we had still not been seated. (Why did I make a reservation again?)  Once we were finally seated and got wonderful food in our bellies everything was just fine!

We saw “The Vow” on Saturday, Nate said he will never watch it again… He felt that Channing Tatum’s character was way too relatable and he didn’t like feeling that way. In other words the chick-flick did its job J I loved it and can’t wait to add it to our movie collection! AND… after seeing the movie I finally got the reconnected feeling I was waiting for. Right before the movie started Nate realized he was not wearing his wedding ring but he had in fact left it at the hotel, which we had just checked out of. Luckily we were able to call and someone ran up to our room and found his ring, which was SUCH A RELIEF! But it also meant we needed to hurry so we wouldn’t be late to our couples massage. Massage Envy did a great job Nate and I were both very impressed.
We ended our weekend with a quick trip to HOBLOB (Hobby Lobby) and some Café Rio.

Grace enjoyed our cafe rio too..
Valentines Day:
You would think i would learn after two years that even though he says he ISN'T doing anything for Valentines he IS! He kept telling me that NO i am not doing anything we already had ours... HE LIED. He had ROSES and a Red Velvet cake sent to me at work. I was in complete shock when my co worker walked in with these two boxes for me! We made a yummy steak and shrimp dinner together.

Anniversary 2? Check!

Friday after work i headed over to Home Depot ( i had to try really hard not to type homo depo) to pick out a GRILL for Nate's anniversary present! I was going to try and surprise him but him being him the surprise was ruined with all his questions! He got his gift a couple days early so he could enjoy it for the BYU vs UTAH game that we invited his brothers over for.
Monday morning I didn't have work until 10 am and I hadn't gotten a text from Nate all morning long i was starting to get sooo bugged, i went into the kitchen to get a drink and sitting right there was a page long note Nate had left on the counter for me! All day i was trying to come up with something that would give him half of the giant smile he gave me and i was stumped! The instructions he gave me that morning were : " After work come straight home and start making dinner don't go anywhere! But you can stop at the grocery store first if you need too... " So that is what i did i stopped at smiths and picked up and couple things and forgot some.. and headed home to make our yummy anniversary meal! Spinach Artichoke Cheese Fondue, Lemon Chicken Pasta & Chocolate Peanut Butter Fondue! Nate came home to yummy smelling food and a handful of flower and the stool i have been begging for, for months! Since we still don't have our table back from refinishing it at Morgans we had a picnic on the floor and watch Xmen First Class. It was perfect!

Valentines Vol. 2

Since last year was such a hit and we had so much fun we decided to make it a tradition that for Valentines every year we would go have ourselves a one night romantic get away in SLC. This year being our 2nd Valentines together we took our time getting up. Nate hoped in the shower and I went to cash my CHECK, then we switched only while I was in the shower Nate went and got me BEAUTIFUL ROSES!! And packed for me and then we headed to Salt Lake. We took a pit stop at Jordan Crossing where we ate at a Sushi Grill, I got sushi and Nate got noodles with shrimp and scallops. Then got our movie tickets for True Git, Nate had been dying to see it FOREVER! I'm glad we finally got to see it. After the movie we headed up to check into our hotel. And relaxed for an hour or two before we left for our reservations at The Melting Pot. It was SOOO good I would totally eat there again only I would only get the Cheese Fondue and then the Chocolate Fondue, the main course isn't quite worth the money but it was fun to do once. Then we played in the pool and made an Ice Cream run. Then slept all the way through breakfast. Nate finally got his birthday presents that I owed him since I had to wait for my paycheck. He was even nice enough to spend several hours walking around the gateway mall with me :) And basically got a free meal because we waited almost an hour and then found a hair in my food... gross i know. We came back home to a very upset kitty and a messy home.. back to reality again i suppose especially since i woke up very achy with a sore throat and a runny nose... Maybe its something about hotels, or traveling that makes me sick.. hope not.

Morning text to Nate:
"Hey sweetheart, I can't even begin to tell you how much I LOVE YOU. You are the best husband anyone could ask for, and you are ALL MINE. I first fell in love with THOSE EYES and I have been falling ever since I am so happy that we will be together FOREVER. You are my TRUE LOVE in every way. We FOREVER have an amazing LOVE STORY that we get to write. THANK YOU for always being there for me. So will you BE MINE FOREVER? Happy Valentines Nate."

Response:
Phone call: I'm not even going to try and top that and I don't have enough time while i'm working to try :) I love you! ( that is not word for word but pretty close :) )

I got to see Nate for a few brief seconds before I left for work. And got cute wonderful text messages all through work which really kept me going because I was dragging! ( being sick does that to you!!) And came home to a wonderful CANDLE LIT DINNER!!! With Steak and potatoes, shrimp and LOBSTER!!AND cheesecake FANTASY from coldstone.  I was so impressed he did such a good job! I wasn't expecting anything out of the ordinary since we had technically already had "our valentines" He defineatly caught me off guard and i am so grateful for him he is such a great husband!

Make sure you let your Special Someone know how important they are to you not just today but ALL the time!

AND A HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO MY WONDERFUL MOM AND STAD ( step DAD) BRENT HAPPY 2 WONDERFUL YEARS OF MARRIAGE TO YOU AND AN ETERNITY TO COME!!

Nate's 23 BirThDay!

Nate turned 23!! I was lucky enough to be able to go to lunch with him before I left for work! I picked him up and we headed to Panda Express :) He headed back to work and I came home to bake his Birthday CAKE! I wanted to do a fun Baseball CAKE but with my new work schedule there just wasn't time for it. So i made a cookie sheet cake one of his favorite unforchenately there was a little toooooo much vanilla that spilled into the frosting so the frosting is a little strong.. :S. I headed to work and I was able to get off at perfect timing for us to go to dinner at Red Lobster it was so yummy and way more affordable than i remember. We came home to have BIrthday CAKE, Coldstone CHEESECAKE FANTASY ice cream and watch Prison Break ( his fav i don't love it but its time i get to spend cuddling with him so i am ALL for it!) Nate decided he wanted the VERY center piece of the cake..  and hey its his birthday so why not! :)

Camping, Fishing, Shooting Mishabs

We've had a fun last couple weeks! FULL of random fun and craziness! Our first camping adventure ever happened about a month ago Nate and I went to STRAWBERRY RESERVOIR needless to say it was filled with more MISHABS than anything else.. We took a little duck boat so that we could go fishing.. We drifted so far out it took us about an hour to paddle back in! The BUGS were ridiculous I felt like i was being eaten alive the entire time!We were both CRANKY from not sleeping at all the night before because it was SOOO COLD and I swear when i get could i have to pee like 10 times more!  But the trip was called short when Nate wondered into some POISON IVY! Needless to say my first camping experience with Nate was not a great one but hey they can't all be perfect right?

FISHING has been a lot more fun! We've been going up to PAYSON LAKES we always have luck there we have NEVER not caught a FISH the biggest down fall is that i always get car sick on the way up.. stupid windy roads.. Nate taught me how to put the HOOK on my own line :) maybe because he got sick of doing it for me but either way as long as he is still my LITTLE FISH BOY and takes the fish off and puts bait back on for me i will put my own hook on. He even taught me how to crack my sunflower seeds instead of just eating them whole.

We went CAMPING again with Morgan, Jenna, Larrisa and Austin. We went to PAYSON LAKES at a camp site unlike the first time.. maybe thats the key use camp sites who knew... This time i was prepared for the cold night ahead we took SLEEPING BAGS this time and zipped them up together so that our body head would keep each other WARM it worked! Thank goodness.. little surprise too.. I've been allergic to hot dogs my entire life everyone knows this about me that night i had a TURKEY dog and didn't get sick!!! I guess i can now join in when everyone else gets one! YES!!!

We went SHOT GUN SHOOTING again.. This time i didn't get the giant bruise like i did last time! We went with Nate's good friend James and his girlfriend Whitney she's a sweetheart and Mark one of Nate's other friends. We had alot of fun we actually got a picture of me even if it wasnt me actually shooting though.. Nate forgot to take one again.. hahahaha
