Christmas 2012

We were very blessed this Christmas season. Nate had lots of opportunities for side jobs and we were able to get the things we were needing and wanting. We spent Christmas Eve at Janet's and had a Mexican inspired dinner and a dance party in the garage. Nate and i decided on our way home that it would be beneficial for us to do presents when we got home so we could attempt to sleep in. So that is what we did.

Christmas morning our alarms went off and i was definitely not ready to be up for the day but we had lots on our agenda. So i got up and started frosting sugar cookies. ( icing not so great for breakfast) We did our usually my moms house and Alexis' then we went to Les Miserables!

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Thanksgiving Celebration

Sometimes i am awful at taking pictures when i need to..... I thought it might get easier since i have been die hard into Shutterfly lately... but NO.
Thanksgiving this year was with my Dad so i don't have a fun nervous story of me trying to figure out how to make some tasty Thanksgiving necessity. Nate got up early that morning to go hunting, and Molly and i hung out in bed and watched the Macys Day Parade. We got up to the Sundance Lodge/Cabin my dad had rented about 1 and we ate dinner about an hour or so later. Since the whole family had traveled in from all over my Dad & Michelle planned on doing Christmas the same weekend. Everyone stayed at the cabin from Wednesday - Sunday. ( except for Nate and I who travel to and from each day) They planned games and activities for each day that included prizes! It was fun to spend time with everyone since we aren't able to see them very often. It did make Nate and I want a Pool Table and a Ping Pong Table we spend lots of time enjoying both. Maybe one day when we don't live in a double wide trailer.
Of coarse i went BLACK FRIDAY shopping!! I couldn't convince Nate to go to Walmart with me ( not that i blame him) So my dear friend Rachel was more than happy to join me, and man was she a good pick for that venture! She was FEISTY got in and got exactly what she wanted! Since she was amazing and came with me i headed over to Target with her. Target was ALOT more organized it just took longer to get into the store but once you were it was WAY easier! I got a good stock of movies and BOTH locations.. After that we split ways and i went to pick up Nate for Kohls which was really the only places i have even planned on going to. Nate had fallen asleep so when i went to wake him i told him to hurry and get dressed so we could go.. to my surprise he pulled back to covers and was ready!..... he had gone to bed completely dressed!
My list was pretty straight forward at  Kohls so we did the usual divide and conquer. Nate was supposed to get his list and head straight to the register LINE. Which he did NOT!! hahah He thought the line wasn't very long.... ( he wasn't looking at the right line)  So i found something in the jewelry counter so i could check out there, it saved us about 3 hours in the check out line and it was WORTH IT! My planning paid off for the most part, i only went over my budget by about $30. BUT it did make it so i got one more Kohls CASH soooooo it was really like only going $15 over but i have other rewards too..... SOOOO if you really think about it i was UNDER BUDGET!!!!

Katelyn's 22 Birthday

So since on my birthday i was on a strange doctored order diet that included no sugar or glutten and a few other odd things.
i decided i wasn't going to make my cake... on my birthday.
I have a baking addiction so i couldn't just go without, since i have been planning my cake for a LONG time i will post pictures when that actually happens!
My actual birthday was great Nate took me to dinner and a movie and it was great just to spend time with him!

Halloween 2012

Not much to say about Halloween, this year wasn't to exciting we did the normal!
Stopped by to see Brianna who wasn't even in her costume yet!! Then headed to Janet's for the neighborhood trunk or treat.
This year was different for costumes though Nate asked ME what we were being for HALLOWEEN what?!!
No begging you to do it with me?!
I guess i am finally starting to wear on him, and i guess it helps that i don't ask that he dress up like Peter Pan or something funny like that!
This year we were Little Red Riding Hood & The Big Bad Wolf!
YAY for home made costumes!

Molly was going to be a pumpkin but she was WAY to little for all of the ones at the store!
SO we just got her a cute Halloween shirt to wear!

I also made some YUMMY Halloween Cookies!

He is going in for a kiss not to eat her! LOL
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

New Addition

So we did something slightly crazy.
I was innocently browsing some classifieds for puppies.
You know... just looking. I had already been in contact with a breeder and we were planning on waiting until spring to get a puppy.
I came across this add for an adorable little Malt-shi-poo (Maltese, Shih tzu, Poodle mix)
So i did what anyone would do i came home and showed Nate what i had come across while browsing the web.
To my SHOCK!!! He said lets go look...  Let me tell you this- no one just looks at puppies.
I told Nate not to let me get one unless i was completely in love with it because i really was holding out for my pure breed Maltese.
BUT THEN..
It was seriously love at first sight.

A couple hours later she was heading home with us!

We can't get enough of this little pup.
She is ridiculously ADORABLE (in Brianna's words) loving, clumsy, curious, all wrapped in one.
AND sometimes a little MONSTER but we love her dearly, how could you not?!

She is the perfect little early birthday present!

MEET MOLLY!!!!

First day!

Just cuddling!

Treyson loves to play!

Isaac loves to hug and kiss her!

Sleepy puppy

Out cold!

Blessing in Disguise

We have news.... We're....... MOVING! We were planning on moving into Nate's brother Morgans basement apartment coming this fall. Everything was planned and in the process of being ready. Well things change and we had to make other arrangements. So we just bought our VERY OWN PLACE in OREM. I am not going to lie i was kind of upset when our plans fell through we didn't have much time to figure out something else. But it has turned into a blessing we weren't expecting ( not that you ever really expect blessings but that's not the point) It at happened super quick, my brother AJ heard we were looking for something and started calling around before i knew it i had several phone numbers in my possession of people who i needed to call. One stood out most of all to us so we called up the lady and she said that she was selling it first come first serve which made us super nervous because our lease at Pleasant Spring.. ( evil apartment place) was not up until October and its still AUGUST.. Thankfully everything fell into place because a week later we were holding the keys to our very own place! We immediately ( literally the night we got the keys) started painting the master bedroom, i have been wanting to paint since our very first place but it makes NO SENSE to paint a rental! The place was in great condition and has good paint already so really it was just because i wanted to. There was only a small amount of touch up paint that needed to be done. We got the carpets cleaned a few days later and then got some smelly goods in there because it smelt like an old lady.. and not in the good way.
We had talked to our apartment manager and asked if we could move out and we would continue to pay until a new renter moved in and she told us that was not an option.. LAME!!  Then three weeks later Nate went in basically asking the same thing just in boy terms and she told us just to move out as quickly as possible and when someone moves in the contract will be broke! OMG is that not what i wanted three weeks ago?!! I feel like that is VERY sexist! So long story short i walked in the door and we instantly start packing! We started Friday afternoon with the assistance of Nate's little brother Michael. We got all the big stuff over and finished that night. Then Saturday i had to work so my sweet husband moved the majority of the stuff over by himself!
Unpacking did not go nearly as quickly as it did in our other moves we learned we have little to no drawers ANYWHERE! So we still have random who knows boxes that we will dissolve eventually.

The new place is coming together quite nicely. I will be excited when the decorating is finish or at least in the works so that it feels more homey.

Here is a PREVIEW

Our 3rd Anniversary

We did our yearly St George trip a little differently this year! We still did the usual dinner in Beaver on our way down ( even though we did try a different place this year) But we did not stay in a hotel in St George we stayed at the Family Cabin instead with Austin and Larissa. They didn't come down until Friday after work so Nate and i had the day to ourselves which was full of fishing ( for Nate) and nap time. We finally got up and headed to St George around 2. We spent time doing some shopping at our favorite places and had the usual dinner at the Samuri 21. We had some time to kill before our show started so i got a pedicure and Nate got some ice cream. Our show this year was Aladdin which we were VERY excited for! Sadly it did not compare to the two previous years, which was a bummer. Driving back to the cabin that night instead of just driving ten minutes to the hotel was an adjustment i think i like being closer. Saturday morning the boys went fishing ( of coarse) and Larissa and I went and got massages! We ate dinner that this DELICIOUS steak house that's up Cedar Canyon. All in all it was a great trip but i did miss some of our usual's like the SWIMMING POOL in St George. NEXT year will be great the show we will see is Joseph and the Technicolor Dream Coat!  You cant go wrong with a Joseph.

We have officially been married 3 years!

Nate took the day off and surprised me at work with lunch and GORGEOUS flowers. We had a pretty low key night which was exactly what we needed! We had a divine dinner at Ruby River and did a little shopping, and spent the rest of the night cuddling watching TV my favorite :)   Its kinda weird to think its already been 3 years, but at the same time i can also say its strange that its only been 3 years. Nate has definitely become my best friend in our time together and i am so grateful for him.

Death by Pickle Juice

I got myself a new kindle touch!!
My old Kindle died.. I was eating my lunch at work and dropped a TINY bit of pickle juice on it and like 5 minutes later it started FREAKING out! Couple minutes after that i had no controls! I fought with it on and off for about a day before i had completely had my fill!! My poor husband had to watch my melt down ( it had been a bad day) so i went and bought the physical copy of the book i was reading and figured that would tie me over but i missed having my kindle its so much easier and lighter. We went to Walmart and they were SOLD OUT! So we tried another Walmart SAME STORY... really? :( Tried Amazon.com OUT OF STOCK ( not sure if returning STOCK) WHAT THE CRAP!!! Come to find out its because the next generation is about to come out.. LAME i just wanted a basic KINDLE! So we found one on ebay. Happy Anniversary to ME!!!

A Mouse Filled Night

Nate drew an archery deer tag this year in the same area as his family cabin so the past couple weekends have been dedicated to this.. BUT this weekend was different.. The weekend before Nate had gone on his own because Aunt Flo decided to make an early arrival and i was not up for peeing in the woods.. He came home late saturday and all was well. This past weekend Nate and i went together we left right after work and spent that night hanging out with family at the cabin. When it came time for bed we headed back up to our Trailer that was parked at the top of the canyon/hill whatever you would like to call it. We were about to start a movie when i saw this little mouse head pop up out of the stove.... surprisingly i did not scream. I somewhat calmly told Nate that i saw a mouse. We waited not sure what to do and then right as we thought maybe it would be ok the mouse climbed out of the stove and ran across our bed! We started freaking out hitting it with wood and basically whatever we could get our hands on! We decided we would just start our movie and try and forget about the stupid mouse. I was EXHAUSTED because of Wicked the night before, and all i wanted was SLEEP! I was basically asleep when Nate just decides he cant take it and wants to sleep in the truck. OK... well that lasted all of 5 min before we decided that this was ridiculous and we packed up and drove home in the middle of the night. Mouse 1 us 0

A Night At The Capital Theatre

I had the opportunity to see WICKED! Nate's little brother Caleb spilled the beans that they had an extra ticket, so without hesitation i called up my Mother in Law Janet and asked her if she had already given it away! To my surprise she called me back a day later saying that she would love for me to join them! I was so excited i could barely sleep! All i can say is WOW! It was AMAZING!! I am so grateful i was able to join them on this great night out!

Summer fun

We took my sister Brianna to Strawberry Days again just like we did last year! Brianna's gold fish Bowser that she won herself last year had died about a week before while they were in Blue Water, New Mexico. She was very excited to win herself a new fish. She reminded my mom almost every day that it was a carnival fish and wasn't supposed to last that long but it did! Brianna was extra BRAVE this year she wanted to ride the FERRIS WHEEL, even though she was scared of heights she still wanted to! She did discover this year that she really enjoys the expensive carnival games MORE than she likes the rides. She wanted to win herself a fish, we bought one bucket of balls for $5 and she won herself 2 fish!! She named them Carrot and Cookie, sadly Carrot only last one night. Brianna wanted to feed her to the cats but my mom suggested that flushing her down the toilet would be a better option. We let her play one more carnival game after that she picked the Dart Balloon game she did a great job and won herself a little dinosaur all by herself, she was very proud of that. Nate even broke some bottles and won her a cheetah stuff animal, she was a little confused why he picked up the balls the through them and not her... After melting at the carnival we headed to our pool! Brianna was a little scared at first since she has only been in swim lessons for a couple weeks now but we got her a floaty and she had a great time. She decided that swim lessons were no longer fun because with us and her floaty she could go to the deep section and for her that was alot more fun!
Friday night we FINALLY went to the Drive In movies even though we kept changing our minds a thousand times if we were going or not. Nate forgot our pump for our air mattress but was determined to be comfortable he started blowing it up himself! I was pretty impressed he got it pretty full in the 30 min he had before the movie started! I was amazed people packed GIANT LOVE SACS in their cars for the movies. What is nice is all of the showing are double features! We saw Madagascar 3 and What to Expect When you are Expecting. Nate basically slept through the entire first movie, but thats ok he was tired. I have not stayed up that late in a VERY LONG TIME! Shockingly i was not as tired as i thought i would be today i may change my opinion on that tonight while we are at the rodeo but we will see.

So Nate and i feel asleep after i got off work on Saturday before the  RODEO. We woke up at 7:20 which is 10 min before it starts Nate jumped out of bed and rushed over. Sadly it was packed! We tried to stay as long as possible but we had HORRIBLE seats so we finally gave up and went to the carnival. THANKFULLY the Lehi Rodeo has assigned seats even though we were there plenty early! Its always fun to see Trevor in the Rodeos especially when he does well. He took 2nd that night and 3rd over all.

Our First Payson Lakes Trip of 2012

We had our first Payson Lakes fishing adventure of the year. Nate wasn't even done putting his pole together by the time i pulled out my first fish! ( i had 3 before his pole was ever in the water) We had a fun night catching fish with his little brother Michael. The night ended with the score of:
Katelyn: 8
Michael: 5
Nate: 3
(guess my pink fishing pole really does work)

Lake Powell 2012

This trip was a little different than other years because of our Disney trip and Nate's week of school that followed the trip i went down WITHOUT him! Now before you all panic he did join me for the weekend! I left Tuesday after work to head down with my family, and Nate planned to drive down on Friday morning once he finished work to spend the weekend with me. I was really nervous to go down without Nate he is my other half! The ride down DEFINITELY had its bumps in the road.. LITERALLY! We lost a bag on the drive down i saw it through the passenger side window and NO ONE believed me!! It look me like 5 min to convince everyone else in the car what i had seen! My step brother Tanner was in the car behind me and luckily saw the bag and stopped to pick it up. When we all finally got back on the road just as we got back up to speed we BLEW a tire! Worst luck ever?!.... I think so! It was entertaining to watch my uncle get stuck in the McDonalds Drive Thru and end up walking to rest of the way.We finally got to Antelope Point around 2am and still had to unload some of the coolers into the fridges. I was not a happy camper by the time i finally got to bed, since I had not slept at all on the ride down.  Wednesday was definitely lonely without Nate everyone had there buddy and I was all by myself, so I stole my nephew Treyson to be my buddy.  Nate was able to tell me Tuesday night when I called to tell him we survived the car ride that he was coming down THURSDAY!!! It was soooo great to see Nate. I felt like I had been away from him forever! I'm sure the fact that he has been working nights and then spent his day off doing yard work at his brothers house did not help! I was soooo ready for some Nate time and i got it!! We caught up on some super hero movies that we had not seen thanks to my brother. (shocking?! I think not..)
Nate caught himself a toothless piranha also known at a Bluegil. Which later became my brother little pet.. AJ was playing by the water and this fish would not leave him alone! It kept coming back at one point he said he could feel it tugging on his swimsuit DEFINITELY a PIRANHA! Sunday morning we got up early to go to RAINBOW BRIDGE my dad was sure I had been there before but I didn't remember it.. And we have been going to Lake Powell since I was 12 so I think I would have remembered it if I had. After our choppy waved voyage and my dad taking us down these narrow...  I dont even know what to call it I should probably have Nate write this part because I am traumatized and have nothing good to say.
The drive home was really entertaining, lets just say we have obviously spent lots of time in the car lately. All in all it was a good trip but like all trips not long enough!

Nate BIG Fishing Day

Nate and his brother Austin went fishing at Soldier Creek on Saturday. It looks like they had a morning to remember to me!! Austin caught a 19 and 18 inch Cut-Rainbow. And Nate caught a 20 inch pure Cut-Throat. All together they were able to catch 10 fish in about 4 hours.
